Mold-making has been our core merit since we incepted. With abundant experience in making specialty molds, we stress the manufacturability, efficiency and functionality while we design for tool, the shorter injection cycle time, longer-lasting robust steel material and how to reduce repetitive modification are our chief consideration.
Molds we able to make
The molds are made throughout in-house. The maximum dimension molding we make is 10 Ton weight and 1 Ton for high precise molding. Averagely annual mold output reaches to 100 – 120 molds and the mold types we make are various.
Before tooling start, what to prepare, what action to take in advance
Nexus Supply committed to providing superior design consultation, mold design and engineering services, the elementary objective we provide, confirm and discuss in advance of the project.
Design for manufacturability (DFM)
Early involvement and review what we designed with customer’s RD, to ensure the location of ejector pins, parting line, sprue and runner type, surface effect and draft angel, evaluate the feasibility to both mold designer and customer. It will be a smooth transition from part design to final product.
Tooling schedule
We detail all in process scheduling from mold component procurement, the process of every single part to final mold assembly. So that our customers are able to manage the project with ease.
Mold-flow
The simulation helps ID, RD and mold designer optimize their designs during the initial stages of development before tooling kick-off. Our engineers use it early in the mold design process to address any potential areas of concern regarding a customer’s design drawing and data (such as wall thickness, gate location, fill and cycle time, temperature, and consistency.) This ensures the most efficient use of time and resources, as it is significantly less costly to make part design changes prior to any actual prototyping or machining activities.
Surface effect
Usually it decides the draft angle and smoothness for part to release from the mold. We provide texturing code and polishing sample for customer to know how the plastic piece will look like after injection. (you can see further information in our report)
Our Value-add
We are closely in cooperation with suppliers to integrate varied manufacturing process to provide a value-added services
Prototyping
SLA 3D Prototyping: When a solid object is required for design verification or marketing approval prior to any investment in tooling, we provide functional prototype parts directly from SLA 3D printing mockup within few days, it benefits us to make things better, faster and more economically.
